Happy Mother's Day!

Here's to the moms and soon to be moms that kept me away from my own one this year!

This is an American Oystercatcher parent sitting on the nest. These guys completed their three egg clutch and have been sitting on the nest for about a week. Only 3 more weeks to go! Oystercatchers lay three eggs, one every other day. However, we happened upon a four egg next this week! It's a rarity, so we'll see what happens.

I found this piping plover nest today! This is a great example of their scrapes- they scrape out a nest bowl and line it with shells for decoration. Oftentimes they choose to scrape by a piece of driftwood, plant, or significant rock.

Hope all you moms felt extra loved today!
