Many of my favorite times while living in North Carolina were going see my second cousin Ted and his wife Lori. We visited the Stanks in Michigan for a few summers in grade school, so reconnecting with them last spring as an 'adult' felt like coming full circle. We calculated that I've been to 6 of their residences between all their moves, but no matter where they call home it feels like home to me. It's an almost inexplicable sensation to feel at home, but you just know it when you feel it. If only for a few hours it was great to catch up with Ted and Lori and I'm looking forward to our next meeting - wherever it may be!

With Ted and Lori you always have fun and you always eat well. I love you guys!

My Great Aunt Edith lives with her daughter in Virginia, a convenient detour (is that oxymoronic?) on my route. I was happy to stop in and see this Okie woman who is a key character in many of my Grandma's tales. Aunt Edith would often come visit in Oklahoma and I'm glad that I got to know so many of my Grandma's siblings in my lifetime (even Uncle Kee). My mom sent some Stancampiano sand plum jelly that I was happy to get to share with Aunt Edith.
