Was it the endless chatter about bird behavior? The nightly stream of plover doings between Emily, Sharon and I?
Or could it have been the bird-themed cups and clothing and what not?
Well in case you're not convinced, here are some more pictures of birds. A lot of these were taken on my day off from being a birder when I got to go out in the field with Sharon. She had the black skimmers and terns congregate on her beaches this year and was kind enough to let me see the chicks!

"Why is this area closed? I never even see birds here!"
Common Tern incubating. There were so many nests in progress on top of the tons and tons of chicks everywhere!!

I spent hours "chick sitting". Essential I sit on site and try to deter crows and talk to people/dog walkers coming through. This provided me a lot of time to observe the chicks and get some good pictures. I was sitting still on the beach and they would move towards me to feed. This week allowed me to learn a lot about plover behavior.
